AP Art: Concentration
My goal in this series is to imagine fantasy characters that have never been seen before and apply them to paper using any drawing utensils that I can find. This includes colored pencils, oil pastels, ink, charcoal, and even mixed media. I would like to make people see these characters and worlds that I create as unique and something they will not forget due to the unusual ideas and concepts that I think of.
I also plan on giving each piece a special feel to it that triggers a different emotion each time to the viewer, as all art should. These feelings that I aim for are not as simple as anger, happiness, or sadness. I want feelings of loneliness, senses of disturbance or a cold shock down the spine, or the feeling of relaxation or content to help calm a stressed mind. These are only a few of the emotions I plan on triggering.
The purpose of this series is to show my ability to one: create never-before seen characters in separate fantasy worlds and two: give these characters personality and emotions through the simplicity of one picture. I find these attributes important in character creation, especially if one wants a character to have a lasting effect on the audience.
